Manuela De Simone
Figurative artist based in Berlin
Manuela De Simone creates figurative paintings in which women, animals, and mysterious beings inhabit the uncertain space between nature and mythology.
Her work explores the boundaries between the visible and the unseen, where tenderness coexists with power, and beauty often carries a sense of unease.
Rather than offering a single interpretation, her paintings leave room for ambiguity, inviting the viewer into worlds that feel at once familiar and impossible.
Artistic Practice
Trained at IED in Rome, De Simone worked in graphic and motion design before dedicating herself to painting. Years of travel across different continents shaped her relationship with nature, symbolism, and the wider world.
Working from her studio in Berlin, she develops her paintings through meticulous drawing and successive layers of watercolor, ink, gouache, and colored pencil.
Her original artworks are held in private collections around the world, and she is part of the Eclipse Art Auctions collective.
Alongside her original paintings, she creates selected Fine Art editions, carefully produced to preserve the character of each work.
